Kane celebrates his 100th goal for Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has revealed that his enthusiasm in going back to the Premier League has diminished and he is willing to negotiate a new agreement with Bayern Munich.
The accomplished striker is presently two years through the four-year contract he signed when joining from Tottenham Hotspur for 86.4 million pounds in the summer of 2023.
The 32-year-old forward has accumulated an impressive 103 goals in 106 matches for the German club, helping them secure the 2024-25 Bundesliga title - which represented the initial major achievement of his notable career.
Tottenham coach Thomas Frank has recently stated that he would be pleased to see Kane go back to England, where he needs 48 goals to surpass Alan Shearer's record Premier League scoring record of 260.
However, the England captain has now clarified that he is no longer as eager about returning home as he once was, and would definitely contemplate lengthening his stay in Bavaria.
"In terms of extending longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.
"I mentioned openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those conversations with Bayern yet, but if they were to come up I would be open to talk and have an frank conversation.
"Obviously it relies on how the next year or so progresses and what we attain together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not focusing about anything else.
"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had questioned me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.
"Now I have been there a couple of years I would perhaps say that has decreased a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.
"What I have discovered in my career is that different options and different moments happen and things work out. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am completely all in with Bayern."
Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions
Kane is the all-time top scorer for both Tottenham and England and lately became the fastest player this century to achieve 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five competitions, attaining the achievement in just 104 games for Bayern.
However, a honor had avoided him until he lifted the German title last season.
Kane states that he was not sure how he would react after overcoming his trophy wait, but now believes it has made him eager for more success.
"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he explained.
"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've shown that this year.
"I was interested in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.
"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.
"But for sure, I driven myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."
